3M™ Cubitron™ II 984F abrasive cloth belts enable highly efficient grinding with low heat generation, ensuring a consistent finish throughout the product’s service life while eliminating heat-related discoloration and cracking. Our abrasive cloth belts use 3M™ ceramic grain, electrostatically oriented to form sharp points that cut through metal rather than gouging it like conventional abrasives. The triangular-shaped abrasive grains fracture during use to continually expose fresh, sharp cutting edges. This extends abrasive life, improves grinding results, and requires less grinding pressure. As a result, these belts grind faster and last longer than any conventional ceramic abrasive product on the market. The belts feature a cloth splice that adds strength in medium- and high-pressure applications. Our abrasive belts are available in a range of sizes, making them suitable for nearly any industrial belt sanding machine. Narrow belts are used on handheld belt sanders for grinding or blending. Medium-width belts are used on backstand machines for weld removal, stock removal, and stainless steel grinding, while wider belts are used on wide belt sanders for applications such as calibrating metal sheets.
