The Fenix HM70R headlamp offers an unbeatable combination of impressive output and long runtime. The HM70R delivers up to 1600 lumens maximum output and up to 100 hours of continuous runtime (lowest mode). The HM70R is powered by a high-capacity 5000 mAh 21700-type Li-ion battery, providing up to 50% longer runtime and 30% more light compared to headlamps powered by an 18650 Li-ion battery. The Fenix HM70R features a multi-light system that covers all lighting needs, including a long-throw spotlight/flood combination beam, a wide close-range floodlight, and a red light for preserving night vision and visibility. With this lamp, there’s no need to fumble around—everything is easily controlled via the large push-button switch located on the end of the light. The oversized switch also makes the lamp easy to operate even while wearing thicker gloves. The HM70R features the fastest-in-class 2A USB-C charging port, which recharges the high-capacity battery extremely quickly.

Best-in-class lighting

The HM70R features separate spotlight, floodlight, and red light modes, all operated from the large push-button on the end of the lamp. The combined/spot beam produces up to 1600 lumens and reaches up to 186 meters. This lighting setup is excellent for illuminating broad areas and more distant targets. The HM70R’s floodlight is very wide and uses an excellent neutral white LED with natural color rendering. It is ideal for precision close-up work both on the job and during leisure use. The HM70R also includes two red LEDs that help preserve night vision or function as a visibility light. When used outdoors, for example as a tent light, one of the red light’s clear advantages is that it is less likely to attract insects around the light.

The HM70R headlamp uses a high-capacity 5000 mAh 21700 Li-ion 3.7 V rechargeable battery, offering 50% longer runtimes and 30% more powerful lighting compared to an 18650 Li-ion battery. The HM70R provides enough power for up to 100 hours of continuous use in 30 lm Eco mode. The high-capacity battery cell enables long runtimes across all output levels. 

Fastest-in-class 2A USB-C charging

One important factor when choosing a headlamp is how quickly it can be made ready for use. The HM70R charges extremely quickly. Fast USB Type-C charging (the same connector used by most phones) charges the light from empty to full in just four hours at 2A charging current. The headlamp can also be used in its medium mode while charging. You can check the remaining battery capacity by briefly pressing the button on the end of the lamp, where the LED indicator shows the remaining charge level.

The HM70R not only looks like a premium-class headlamp, it is also extremely durable and comfortable to use. The lamp is made from durable hard-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum. The headlamp is also easy to adjust to the desired angle, as the light head tilts 180 degrees. There is no unnecessary fumbling with this lamp, as all functions are easily accessible from the large push-button switch located on the end of the light. During transport, the operating modes can also be locked so the lamp does not switch on accidentally. The HM70R is fully IP68 dustproof and waterproof, so it stands up even to the most demanding conditions.

The HM70R runs on one standard 21700 Li-ion battery. The lamp comes with a powerful 5000 mAh 21700 Fenix ARB-L21 battery. The Fenix ARB-L21-5000 battery is a safe Li-ion rechargeable battery that, in addition to its protection circuits, is protected by a steel shell against external knocks and impacts.
