Vent FireStop intumescent firestop strip EI30/EI60 4x7.5 mm (6.3 m/roll)

Flamebraker® Vent Firestop (VFS) is a cavity fire barrier installed in eaves structures that limits the spread of fire from the facade into the roof void while maintaining good ventilation and moisture performance of the structure. The cavity fire barrier strip, only 4 mm thick, expands only in the event of a fire, making it easy to maintain ventilation at the barrier location.

The cavity fire barrier activates and begins to expand when the temperature in the ventilation gap at the barrier location rises to approximately 180°C.

In a fire test carried out on eaves structures (A), 29 mm ventilation gaps closed within 3 minutes. According to the fire test, the product can achieve the 30- or 60-minute insulation and integrity requirements (EI30, EI60) once the ventilation gap has closed.

In compartmented eaves structures, the spread of fire into the roof void must also be prevented before the ventilation gap closes. Based on fire test (A), it can be assessed that fire will not spread into the roof void even before the ventilation gap closes, provided that the conditions stated in the test report A issued by Palotekninen Insinööritoimisto Markku Kauriala Oy are followed and that the ventilation gap at the product location does not exceed 29 mm.

• Fire barrier for ventilation gaps in eaves structures in EI30 and EI60 classes when the ventilation gap at the product location is no more than 29 mm
