The purpose of the DIN6798I internal-tooth lock washer (toothed lock washer) is to enable electrical current to flow through the joint between components on products coated with paint, corrosion protection agents, or similar materials, as the toothed part of the washer pierces the coating when the joint is tightened.
If the purpose of the washer is to prevent a fastener of a lower strength class from loosening in the joint, its retaining performance must be checked at regular intervals.
