Stud bolt DIN 938 1.00d 8.8 steel
Material: steel, uncoated (St).
Material grade: 8.8.
Thread length on the shorter end: diameter x 1.00. NOTE! A stud screw does not replace a stud bolt!
- a stud bolt has a longer threaded section on the end that goes into the block!
Stud screws, often confused with stud bolts, are industrial fastener components used mainly in block assemblies and guide components. A stud screw has threads on both ends, while the middle section is unthreaded.
The thread lengths differ at each end of the stud screw, and the threaded end that goes into the block is always shorter.
The thread dimensions of a stud screw are determined by the diameter, depending on the standard. For DIN 938 stud screws, the thread length on the shorter end is 1 x d, where d is the stud screw diameter. Correspondingly, for DIN 939, the thread length on the shorter end is 1.25 x d.
The length of a stud screw is given as the effective length, where the threaded portion of the shorter end is subtracted from the overall length in the dimensioning.
