Stud bolt DIN 938 1.00d 8.8 Zn
Material: steel, bright zinc-plated (Zn).
Material grade class 5.8.
Thread length on the shorter end: diameter x 1.00. NOTE! A stud bolt does not replace a double-ended stud!
- a double-ended stud has a longer threaded section on the end that goes into the block!
Stud bolts, often confused with double-ended studs, are an industrial fastener component used mainly in block assemblies and guide components. A stud bolt is threaded at both ends, and the center section is unthreaded.
The thread lengths differ at each end of the stud bolt, and the threaded end that goes into the block is always shorter.
The thread dimensions of a stud bolt are determined by the diameter, depending on the standard. For a DIN 938 stud bolt, the thread length on the shorter end is 1 x d, where d is the stud bolt diameter. Correspondingly, for DIN 939, the thread length on the shorter end is 1.25 x d.
The length of a stud bolt is stated as the effective length, where the threaded portion of the shorter end is subtracted from the overall length in the dimensioning.
