Stud bolt DIN 939 1.25d 5.8 Zn
Material: steel, bright zinc-plated (Zn).
Material grade class 5.8.
Thread length on the shorter end: diameter x 1.25. NOTE! A stud bolt does not replace a stud!
- a stud has a longer threaded section on the end that goes into the block!
Stud bolts, often confused with studs, are an industrial fastener component used mainly in block assemblies and guide components. A stud bolt has threads on both ends, and the middle section is unthreaded.
The thread lengths differ at each end of the stud bolt, and the threaded end that goes into the block is always shorter.
Depending on the standard, the thread dimensions of a stud bolt are determined by the diameter. For DIN 938 stud bolts, the thread length on the shorter end is 1 x d, where d is the stud bolt diameter. Correspondingly, for DIN 939, the thread length on the shorter end is 1.25 x d.
The length of the stud bolt is stated as the effective length, where the threaded portion of the shorter end is subtracted from the overall length in the dimensioning.
