The 3M™ RAS-ASB airline respirator with shoulder harness is a positive pressure system that provides the highest level of respiratory protection. The RAS asbestos unit is ideally suited for sites with high contaminant concentrations.
The 3M™ RAS-ASB airline respirator with shoulder harness has been specifically developed for asbestos removal and chemical cleaning applications and delivers a very high level of respiratory protection. This open-circuit, positive pressure respirator includes a positive pressure breathing valve, a medium-pressure supply hose with warning whistle, and a manifold for the air supply hose. The unit is mounted on an adjustable PU-coated shoulder harness with polyester straps, featuring a surface that is easy to wipe clean.
The breathing valve maintains positive pressure inside the full face mask, providing a nominal protection factor of 2000* (when the unit is connected to the air supply). The full face mask also includes a negative pressure filter, allowing entry to and exit from work areas without the user needing to be connected to the air supply hose. When the air supply hose is disconnected, the built-in non-return valve prevents contamination of the supply hose.
A warning whistle is fitted to the breathing valve supply hose and alerts the user to an interruption in the air supply, at which point the user must switch to the filter cartridge. The filter cartridge is attached to the mask under the protective hood to prevent contamination. The smooth-surface harness webbing reduces the adherence of asbestos fibers and improves decontamination of the equipment after use.
The built-in particulate filter is installed in the supply hose to prevent any particles that may be present in the hose from entering the full face mask. Approved and CE marked according to EN 14593-1:2005 and AS/NZS 1716:2012.
