Petzl Vertex is an ergonomic, closed-shell safety helmet for professional use. This updated model, with a new structure and accessory compatibility, has been available since 04/2019. It is designed for versatile applications both in fall-risk environments and for work on level ground. Recommended for industrial use, as well as for the electrical and energy sectors. The helmet can be quickly fitted with the new Petzl Vizir eye shield, Protector visor cover, Vizen full-face shield, or Vizen Mesh mesh visor using the included EasyClip quick-attachment pins, which replace the black side inserts on the helmet. All Bollé Safety welding masks can also be attached using optional adapters. Removal is tool-free and done simply by pressing the buttons.

Slots on the sides allow attachment of hearing protection. Compatible with the most common helmet-mounted hearing protectors (including Sordin). Identical attachment points at the front and rear allow mounting, for example, a quick-attachment plate for a headlamp or an ID card holder. Integrated side clips allow a headlamp to be secured with a headband. Attachment points at the rear are provided for a neck protector.

The chinstrap features a Dual selector: the user can choose an EN12492-compliant setting for use in fall-risk environments, where the chinstrap remains fastened under a 50 daN(kg) pull, or an EN397-compliant setting for work on level ground, where the chinstrap releases under a 25 daN(kg) pull. The 6-point suspension keeps the helmet securely in place even in demanding working positions and provides excellent comfort. Thanks to the CenterFit adjustment system (53–63 cm), the helmet is always properly centered and fits extremely well. The two externally adjustable side wheels are easy to operate even while wearing gloves. The Flip&Fit internal system folds inside the helmet for protection during transport and is easy to deploy when needed. The helmet has no brim that could hinder work, strain the neck, or restrict the field of vision, and no stiffening gutter that could catch on structures.

Vertex helmets offer excellent compatibility with other protective equipment. Recommended, for example, for use with GVS Elipse half-mask respirators and Bollé Safety eye protection.

Maximum lifespan: 10 years, resulting in over 77% less environmental waste compared to a standard helmet.

NOTE! This new Vertex Vent is not compatible with Vizir and Vizir Shadow eye shields or Vizen full-face shields designed for helmets manufactured before 04/2019. You can identify incompatible models by their mounting screws, whereas compatible new models feature tool-free EasyClip quick-attachment points. For reference: thanks to the Dual selector, Vertex has replaced the earlier Vertex Best and Vertex ST models, which were discontinued from the range as of 04/2019. Mandatory requirements of the EN397 standard:

• 5.1.1. Shock absorption from impact caused by a single falling object (5 kg from a height of 1 m)
• 5.1.2. Penetration by a single object into the helmet (3 kg steel cone sharpened to 60 degrees from a height of 1 m)
• 5.1.3. Flame resistance
• 5.1.4. Chinstrap release performance: remains fastened under a 15 daN pull and releases no later than a 25 daN pull (when the Dual selector is in the <25 kg position)

• Suitable for live working according to EN 50365 Class 0 (1000 V A.C, 1500 V D.C). Additional information: also tested according to ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type I Class E up to 20,000 V.

• 5.7.3 High force required to open the chinstrap so the helmet does not come off in a fall due to impact on the head (when the Dual selector is in the >50 kg position)
