Petzl Vertex Vent safety helmet yellow

Petzl Vertex Vent is an ergonomic ventilated safety helmet for work use. This updated model features a new structure and accessory compatibility from 4/2019 onward. It is designed for versatile use both in fall-risk conditions and for work on level ground. It is especially well suited for construction, industrial applications, confined spaces, rescue work, asphalt work, snow removal, and other physically demanding jobs where heat can build up. The ventilation openings on the sides can be easily closed from the outside, for example in rain or snowfall. Total ventilation opening area with the shutters open: 26.77 cm2.

The helmet can be fitted with the new Petzl Vizir eye shield, Protector cover visor, Vizen full-face shield, or Vizen Mesh mesh visor using the included EasyClip quick-attachment pins, which replace the black side inserts on the helmet. All Bollé Safety welding masks can likewise be attached using optional adapters. Removal is tool-free and done simply by pressing the buttons. Side slots are provided for hearing protection. Compatible with the most common helmet-mounted hearing protectors (including Sordin). Identical attachment slots at the front and rear allow mounting of accessories such as a headlamp quick-mount plate or ID holder. Integrated side clips are provided for securing a headlamp with an elastic headband. Rear attachment points are included for a neck protector.

The chinstrap features a Dual adjustment system: the user can set it to comply with EN12492 for movement in fall-risk conditions (chinstrap remains fastened under a 50 daN(kg) pull), or to comply with EN397 for work on level ground (chinstrap releases under a 25 daN(kg) pull). The 6-point suspension keeps the helmet securely in place even in demanding working positions and provides excellent comfort. Thanks to the CenterFit adjustment system (53–63 cm), the helmet always stays properly centered and fits extremely well. The two external adjustment wheels on the sides are easy to operate even while wearing gloves. The Flip&Fit inner system folds into the helmet for protection during transport and is easy to deploy. The helmet has no brim that could obstruct work, strain the neck, or limit the field of vision, and no reinforcing gutter that could snag on structures. Vertex helmets offer excellent compatibility with other protective equipment. A recommended choice for use with, for example, GVS Elipse half-mask respirators and Bollé Safety eye protection.

Maximum service life: 10 years, which means over 77% less environmental waste compared to a standard helmet.

Tested to protect the head in accordance with the following test methods:
Mandatory requirements of EN397:

• 5.1.1. Shock absorption from impact by a falling single object (5 kg from a height of 1 m)
• 5.1.2. Resistance to penetration by a single object striking the helmet (3 kg steel cone sharpened to 60 degrees from a height of 1 m)
• 5.1.3. Flame resistance
• 5.1.4. Chinstrap release performance: remains fastened under a 15 daN pull and releases by 25 daN at the latest (when the Dual selector is in the <25 kg position)

Optional requirements of EN397:

• 5.2.1. Protection at low temperatures (-30 C)
• 5.2.4. Resistance to lateral deformation (LD)
• 5.2.5. Protection against molten metal splash (MM)

Mandatory requirements of EN12492:

• 5.7.3 High force required to open the chinstrap so the helmet does not come off in a fall due to impact to the head (when the Dual selector is in the >50 kg position)
• 4.1.4 Effective ventilation (sufficient total combined opening area)
• 4.2.1.1 Shock absorption from falling objects from over 1 meter (5 kg from a height of 2 m)

Government Decree on the Safety of Construction Work (205/2009), Chapter 13, Section 71: A safety helmet must be worn on construction sites. If necessary, the helmet must be equipped with an under-hood. Personal eye protection appropriate to the work and working conditions must be used in construction work. The employer must provide safety glasses for tasks involving a significant risk of eye injury.

NOTE! This new Vertex Vent is not compatible with Vizir and Vizir Shadow eye shields or Vizen full-face shields designed for helmets manufactured before 4-2019. You can identify non-compatible models by their mounting screws, whereas the compatible new models have tool-free EasyClip quick-attachment points.
