Sundström SR 500 EX powered air-purifying respirator

SR 500 EX powered respirator. Sundström’s EX-classified battery-powered fan unit is designed for use in explosive atmospheres. The SR 500 EX fan, together with filters and an approved facepiece, forms part of the Sundström respiratory protection system. A risk assessment must be carried out before selecting an EX-classified product. The person performing it must have training and expertise suitable for risk assessment in explosive environments. The SR 500 EX is specifically intended for explosive and flammable environments. Filtered air is supplied through the breathing hose to the facepiece, and the resulting positive pressure prevents surrounding contaminants from entering. Start, stop, and operating mode (175 or 225 l/min) are selected using the same push button. Equipped with an automatic airflow control system that gives audible and visual alarms if the desired airflow is not achieved. Display with the following symbols: Small fan blade lights up green during normal operation. Large fan blade lights up green during boosted operation. Red triangle lights up when airflow is reduced or the filters are clogged. Yellow battery indicator lights up when the battery charge level is low.
