A cylindrical pin is designed for securing or joining two or more elements in a single fastening application. A friction-type joint can be achieved by selecting sufficient clearance between the parts, for example by using a shim washer. For joints that need to be opened and re-fastened, the use of a DIN 1 taper pin is recommended.
