Makita’s cordless angle grinder DGA504 is an extremely powerful professional tool that delivers performance close to that of a corded machine. The disc size is the most common 125 mm used in small angle grinders. The machine is equipped with a brushless motor, offering not only high power and lower power consumption, but also compact size and long service life.

The angle grinder has automatic speed control, which adjusts the speed according to the application. When the machine is under heavy load, the speed drops to a level that the electronic control unit can maintain steadily under load. In an overload situation, the device is stopped. The machine’s LED light glows green when the automatic speed control is activated for heavy load. A red LED light indicates an overload condition when the device has stopped and the machine must be restarted.

The machine’s removable dust covers prevent harmful dust generated during cutting and grinding from entering the machine with the cooling air, and they should be cleaned regularly to maximize airflow. Safety during use is enhanced by soft start and restart protection. Soft start eliminates the dangerous twisting motion of the machine in the user’s hand when starting. Restart protection activates if the power switch has been left in the on position and an empty battery has been replaced with a new one — the machine will only start when the switch is released and activated again.
